Vehicle checks must be carried out before setting off each day. These checks ensure that we are our vehicles function correctly and safely. Not only are these to ensure that the vehicles function effectively and less likely to break down, but in the event of an accident, records of these checks may be requested by any investigatory body to ascertain if any subsequently found vehicle defects were responsible for the accident and thereby direct any liability.
|
Before starting any works, it is important that you carry out the relevant equipment checks in full before commencement. These checks are as much for your own safety as they are for the company’s legal health and safety obligations.
If you intend to use any form of ladder or hop/step up, you should select the ‘Tick’ option and complete the following questionnaire. If you do not need to use any of these, then you should select the ‘Cross’ option and proceed to complete your details and date in the following boxes. |
If you are using a ladder/hop up, then we need to know the ID number/details of the item for records purposes. You should first confirm whether these are legible or not by selecting the ‘Tick’ for yes or the ‘Cross’ for no. If they are not, then you need to contact the office for further instructions.
|
It is important that these details are recorded correctly (if legible), as should there be any issues/accidents resulting from use of the ladder/hop up, it is important that we can make checks of historical usage and audits of the item, to ascertain its continued fitness for purpose. It may also affect any subsequent liability/insurance claims if any are necessary.
